Pearly and Precious Walkthrough: Unlock the Sanzhana Merchant
Pearly and Precious quest walkthrough in Blood of Dawnwalker: follow the teeth, deal with the bandits, and unlock the Sanzhana merchant economy.
Starting Pearly and Precious
After Good Home meets the Tsarina, this Sanzhana appears around Boar’s Back, in the same general region as Burrow Sorrows (guides place the start near the Small Bridge shrine, south of the military camp, and northwest of Shrike’s Crag). Approach the fairy trail and you will find a Sanzhana looting teeth from a fresh corpse — your first hint that this quest is more mercantile than rescue.
Talk to her and she explains the arrangement: the bandits nearby kill people and deliver the corpses; the Sanzhana pay riches for the teeth. She wants the supply chain protected — or rather, she wants you to handle its problems.

Confront the Bandits
Follow the trail in Focus Mode to the bandit camp. The resolution is violence either way: clear out the bandits, let the Sanzhana keep her teeth, and everyone — in her accounting — wins. The fight is standard camp content; if you have been farming humans for shiny teeth, this camp doubles as another drop source.
Return to the Sanzhana afterward. She asks you to acquire teeth on her behalf, which formalizes her as a vendor — and completes the quest.
Rewards and the Merchant Economy
Pearly and Precious pays 100 XP, one skill point, one letter to Lunka, and — the real prize — access to the Sanzhana merchant. Her stock matters for one item above all: a bundle of Silk Threads, a component of the legendary Arbiter armor set from A Bulwark Against Darkness.
Here is the catch: she charges roughly 5,000–6,500 denarii for the threads. Do not pay it. The Come Hither quest hands you the identical bundle for free in the Murohn’s lair, two segments and zero coin. Treat this vendor’s threads as an emergency backstop for runs where Come Hither went sideways, and spend your denarii on silver and upgrades instead.
The Ethical Texture
Like Burrow Sorrows, this quest quietly implicates you: the “poor fairy” framing collapses once you watch her pry teeth from a corpse and haggle over corpses like freight. The game never judges your completion — but it also never pretends the Sanzhani are harmless, which is worth remembering when the Tsarina asks for her favors. Our Sanzhani hub tracks the pattern across all five quests.
The Teeth Economy, Explained
Step back and the quest is a supply-chain study: the Sanzhana demand teeth, the bandits discovered that corpses are easier to harvest than live prey, and a market formed with a fairy as its fence. Your intervention does not break the market — it consolidates it, replacing the bandits with a grateful vendor who will happily sell contraband crafting components to you. The shiny-teeth hunt from Good Home is the same economy viewed from the other side: the Tsarina’s price for Heile is denominated in the currency her people actually trade in. It is the game’s most efficient piece of world-building — one macabre resource that ties two quests, a vendor, and a fairytale subversion together.
Route and Timing
The bandit camp tracks cleanly in about four time segments round trip from the Small Bridge shrine area, and the fight is tuned for the same mid-game bracket as Burrow Sorrows — natural partners on the same day. Do Pearly and Precious after Come Hither so the merchant’s Silk Threads are a backstop rather than a temptation, and finish both before day 25 to keep the extra-day reward safely inside your schedule.
Looting the Bandit Camp
The camp itself pays beyond the quest XP: bandits carry denarii and human-side drops, and — because the Sanzhana’s currency is teeth — the area is a respectable shiny-teeth farm if you still owe the Tsarina from Good Home. Sweep every body before reporting back; the camp’s small silverware hoard also feeds the Silver Trader resale chain, and silver is the one material that stays relevant from the prologue to the finale. Four segments for a vendor, a favor, and a double-dip farm is the kind of efficiency the thirty-day clock rewards.
One last note: the merchant stock refreshes with her usual vendor timer, so if her Silk Threads show as sold out, leave and return later rather than assuming the supply is gone for good. Community verification on restock timing is ongoing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy Silk Threads from this merchant? Only if you missed the free bundle in Come Hither. The price is thousands of denarii for an item the other quest gives away.
Is the bandit camp hard? It is standard camp difficulty for the mid-game. Come at night if you want vampire abilities, or bring stakes for the human-side approach.
Does this quest count toward the extra day? Yes — it is one of the five Sanzhani favors feeding Letters to Lunka and the +1 day reward.
