There are seven endings in Blood of Dawnwalker, and every one of them can be reached deliberately once you know the requirements. Four are full story conclusions built around the final confrontation with Brencis, one is the fail state, and two are secret endings most players never find. This guide lists exactly what each ending needs and how to unlock it in order.

The Four Full Endings

All four full endings share a common gate: defeat the three Boyars (Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe), raise your Infamy to maximum, and reach the final quest A Deal with the Devil. Which ending you get depends on your allies and your final choice.

The Folk Hero

Requirement: Fight Brencis with nobody at your side.

Two routes lead to the solo fight. You can assault Greifberg Castle on your own as soon as you are ready to start A Lone Wolf’s Hunt — hopping the castle walls at night with Shadowstep is entirely viable if you are confident. Or play the standard route: defeat all three Boyars, and when Brencis summons you during A Deal with the Devil, pick the option to end it yourself. This is the hardest version of the final boss. See the Lone Wolf ending guide for the full solo strategy.

The Turncoat

Requirement: Accept Brencis’s deal instead of fighting.

During A Deal with the Devil, Brencis offers to spare your family in exchange for the location of the Manumit hideout in Svartrau. Agree, then visit the hideout and leave a marker for him. Brencis murders the Manumits and your rebellion dies with them — but your family walks free. It is the only full ending with no final boss fight. Full walkthrough: Turncoat ending.

The Patricide

Requirement: Complete Lacra’s entire questline.

Finish every Lacra quest, starting with A Friend Like This. Her final quest, Midnight Reckoning, opens a night assault through the ancient ruins beneath Greifberg Castle, where you destroy Brencis’s Blood Ritual and free Lacra from her binding. It is the darkest of the “good” endings. Details: Patricide ending.

The Knyazmaker

Requirement: Complete Crake’s questline and the Manumit chain.

Work through Crake’s quests up to Who Pulls the Strings, then finish the Manumit chain so the final assault Rise at Dawn unlocks. Storm the castle with the rebellion at your back. This is the most complete ending — the slave revolt succeeds and a new order begins. See hidden ending conditions for the full chain.

The Bad Ending

Time Runs Out

Requirement: Do nothing until day 30 expires.

If the 30-day clock runs out before you reach the finale, Brencis’s coronation proceeds and your family is killed. The objective shifts from rescue to revenge, no ending triggers properly, and you get no achievement. It is the only ending that wastes a run. Prevention guide: worst ending — how to avoid it.

The Two Secret Endings

Both secret endings trigger before you commit to any finale, and neither counts toward the standard completion criteria on higher difficulties. Because both roll credits, each needs its own save file.

A Hero They Deserve

Requirement: Walk out of the valley.

After the prologue, travel west through Laslea Glen to the Briar Sloughs, just past the woods near the Coward’s Path Shrine. A broken bridge spans a ravine on the road out. At night, in vampire form, cross the gap with Shadowstep, then chain Planeshift and Shadowstep up the canyon wall to the unblocked gate. Choose [leave the valley forever]. Coen abandons Vale Sangora, the credits roll, and the trophy pops. Full route with map landmarks: A Hero They Deserve guide.

Together Forever

Requirement: Stay in the nightmare.

Find Aurelius’s Tower at the southeastern end of the Silts and open the door at the top — this starts the hidden quest Home Sweet Home and costs 4 time segments. Inside, you relive a dream of your family in a repeating loop: fight, watch them die, wake up, repeat. Complete four full cycles without using the well, then speak to your family at the start of the fifth cycle and stay. Coen accepts the illusion forever, the credits roll, and the Together Forever achievement unlocks. Do NOT use the well escape if you want this ending — the well route ends the quest and awards the Astrologer’s Ring instead. Make a manual save before the fourth cycle if you want both.

Which Ending Should You Pick First?

  • First playthrough: The Knyazmaker. It rewards a full completionist run and closes the most story threads.
  • Challenge run: The Folk Hero solo assault — the hardest fight in the game.
  • Short on time: A Hero They Deserve is reachable minutes after the prologue.
  • Trophy hunters: All seven are required for the platinum except Time Runs Out, which awards nothing.

How to See Every Ending Efficiently

The two secret endings must be triggered from separate saves before the finale. The four full endings, however, can all be reached from one master save:

  1. Before A Deal with the Devil, make a manual save
  2. Reload it after each ending — the game returns to the title screen after credits, not to a free-roam save
  3. Track conditions with the ending checklist

Frequently Asked Questions

How many endings does Blood of Dawnwalker have?

Seven: four full endings (Folk Hero, Turncoat, Patricide, Knyazmaker), one bad ending (Time Runs Out), and two secret endings (A Hero They Deserve, Together Forever).

Do the secret endings lock me out of the main endings?

No, but each one ends your current run by rolling the credits. Reload a save from before triggering them and your main story progress is intact.

Is there a canon ending?

Rebel Wolves has not declared one canon. All four full endings are treated as valid conclusions, and choices carry forward into a planned saga.

What carries into New Game+?

Any full ending unlocks NG+. The Turncoat also grants the Enforcer outfit variant. Nothing else carries over.
