All Sanzhani Quests, Locations and Rewards in Blood of Dawnwalker
Every Sanzhani quest in Blood of Dawnwalker: the five fairy locations, what each task asks, the twist behind them, and the rewards including the extra day.
Who Are the Sanzhani?
The Sanzhani are small, fairy-like folk living in burrows scattered across Vale Sangora — jarringly whimsical against the game’s darker textures, and mechanically one of the most important factions in it. Their quests never appear as map markers from a distance; you discover each by walking close to a wailing sound or a glowing mushroom ring. All five route through the Tsarina at the Yawning Burrow in the Svartrau Outskirts, and all five together unlock the game’s single time extension.

The Five Quests at a Glance
| Quest | Region | What it asks | Key reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Good Home | Svartrau Outskirts | Find Heile’s brother Tonis; decide her fate | Unlocks the whole chain + Letters to Lunka |
| Tiny Dancer | Svartrau City | Free a caged Sanzhana from a merchant’s shop | Coat of Darkened Scales (legendary) + silver |
| Burrow Sorrows | Boar’s Back | Clear kobolds from a burrow; take a charm | Razor-Edged Ruthless Chopper + pendant |
| Pearly and Precious | Boar’s Back | Deal with bandits trading corpses for teeth | Unlocks the Sanzhana merchant |
| Come Hither | The Silts | Kill the Murohn squatting in a burrow | Free Silk Threads for the Arbiter armor |
Good Home must come first — the other four fairies only appear after you meet the Tsarina. After that, any order works, though we recommend Come Hither early for the free crafting component.
The Rewards, Stacked
Each completed favor earns one message to Lunka through the Letters to Lunka chain — 250 XP for the full correspondence. Individual quests also pay out XP, skill points, and gear, but the cluster’s real prizes arrive at the end:
- One full extra day before Brencis’s coronation — the only time extension in the game.
- The Tsarina’s Favourite Human trophy for completing the set.
- Access to a Sanzhana merchant (via Pearly and Precious) who sells Silk Threads — one of the four components for the Arbiter armor set — though the free threads from Come Hither make paying her thousands of denarii unnecessary.
Two of the Fairies Lie
The Sanzhani are not innocent, and two quests twist on that. In Burrow Sorrows, the fairy claims kobolds invaded her den — in truth the kobolds lived there first, and she hired you to clear them out. In Pearly and Precious, the fairy’s bandit arrangement trades corpses for riches, and her horror at your violence is mostly theater. The game never punishes you for completing these; it simply lets you notice. Our individual walkthroughs spell out what is true in each case.
Strategy: When to Do the Cluster
Start Good Home in week one — it costs little and unlocks everything. Spread the remaining four across weeks two and three, pairing each with nearby content to amortize travel: Burrow Sorrows and Pearly and Precious both live around Boar’s Back, Come Hither pairs naturally with Silts exploration, and Tiny Dancer is a two-segment errand any time you pass through Svartrau. Finish everything by day 25 so the extra day lands before your final-quest setup.
Who Are the Sanzhani, Really?
The Sanzhani read as Vale Sangora’s fairytale relief — small winged folk in burrows, a Tsarina, a taste for mushroom rings — and the game lets that impression stand just long enough. Look closer and the pattern sharpens: they buy corpses by the tooth, outsource eviction to hired swords, and keep a human girl as a ward without asking her village. None of this makes them villains; it makes them actors in the valley’s economy, with interests and methods of their own. That texture is deliberate on Rebel Wolves’ part — the fairytale creatures of Carpathian folklore were never Disney harmless, and the quests honor the older tradition. It also means the cluster’s generosity (letters, time, trophies) reads as payment for services rendered, not charity — a fitting relationship for a game about the cost of favors.
Is the Sanzhani cluster worth it on a Duelist run? More than anywhere else. The extra day is effectively a heal on the run’s tightest constraint, and the fights involved are modest by Duelist standards. Just save Tiny Dancer’s two segments for when the city is safe to enter.
Do I need to finish the cluster before the final quest? Yes — finish by day 25. Past the point of no return, unfinished favors are gone for that run.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which Sanzhani quests I’ve finished? Rescued fairies relocate to the Tsarina’s burrow — count the heads. Each favor also converts to one letter from Lunka in your inventory.
Can I fail a Sanzhani quest? None have combat fail states. Good Home has a bad ending where Tonis dies, but the chain continues either way.
Is the extra day worth the segments spent? Almost always — the cluster’s total time cost is lower than a day, so completing it is net-positive on the clock.
