Lacra in The Blood of Dawnwalker: Complete Character & Questline Guide
Lacra character guide: the vrakhir ally behind The Patricide ending. Her questline from A Friend Like This to Midnight Reckoning, romance options, and epilogue fate.
Lacra did not come to Vale Sangora to save anyone. She came to kill Brencis.
That distinction matters, because allying with her is not allying with a hero. It is allying with a weapon that has been aimed at the same target for longer than you have been alive — and deciding, together, who pulls the trigger.

Who Is Lacra?
Lacra is a vrakhir — a vampire who has not yet fully turned, walking the same line Coen walks. She arrived in Vale Sangora before you, for reasons she does not immediately share. Her journal entry is terse: “Lacra arrived in Vale Sangora with her own reason to want the knyaz dead.”
She is first encountered in Svartrau City, investigating the same regime you are dismantling. Where Crake leads a rebellion of humans, Lacra works alone. Where Anca offers warmth, Lacra offers competence. She is the ally for players who want their partnership to be about the mission, not the comfort.
Lacra’s Questline: Full Order
Completing Lacra’s chain is required for The Patricide ending. The quests must be done in sequence; each unlocks the next.
| Quest | Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| A Friend Like This | Svartrau City | Meet Lacra by the north-east wall using Focus Mode |
| Song of the Mountain | Westridge | Optional hunting detour; no consequence either way |
| Hive and Seek | Westridge Outpost | Infiltration; keep saves before major choices |
| Our Rotten Roots | Westridge Outpost Tower | Reveals Lacra’s history; 4 time segments |
| The Night of Horrors | Westridge | Optional; awards a trophy |
| Midnight Reckoning | Greifberg Castle | The finale; speak to Lacra to initiate the assault |
Critical: A Mother’s Plea is a hidden quest that only triggers in sequence within this chain. Miss it, and you lose access to content that does not reappear. The all quests guide has the full route.
The Patricide: Lacra’s Ending
Finish her chain, and Midnight Reckoning becomes available. This is not a variant of the final quest. It is a different final quest — one where you storm Greifberg Castle at night, as vampires, with Lacra beside you.
The name does work. The Patricide is about what the vrakhiri are to each other — what killing Brencis means when the one beside you has her own claim on his death. It is the darkest of the four full endings, and the most personal.
The endings guide explains how to structure saves to reach every ending from one playthrough.
Romance: Is Lacra an Option?
Yes. Lacra is one of three confirmed romance options in The Blood of Dawnwalker, alongside Anca and Crake.
Her romance is not built around warmth. It is built around shared purpose, mutual respect, and the specific intimacy of two predators who have decided not to prey on each other. If you are pursuing it, complete her questline and choose the dialogue options that treat her as an equal, not a tool.
Spoiler: Even if you romance her, Lacra’s epilogue is not domestic. She is still causing chaos wherever she goes. The romance does not tame her; it gives you a place in the storm.
Epilogue: What Happens to Lacra
In the epilogue — assuming she survives your choices — Lacra appears in the character fates montage. The specifics depend on whether you betrayed her, completed her questline, or left her unfinished. The choices guide explains how consequences branch.
If you betrayed her for The Turncoat ending, she dies. There is no version of that betrayal where she forgives you, and no post-credits scene that retcons it.
How Lacra Fits Your Run
Lacra’s route runs parallel to Crake’s, and both can be completed in the same playthrough. The endgame guide recommends finishing both before A Deal with the Devil — not because they conflict, but because the master save you make before the final quest is the key to every ending, and both ally questlines must be complete for that key to work.
If you are chasing The Patricide specifically, prioritize her chain. If you are chasing every ending, prioritize both chains, in parallel, with separate saves before each commitment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I miss Lacra’s questline permanently? Yes. A Mother’s Plea is missable and does not reappear if skipped. Save before each quest in her chain.
Does romancing Lacra lock out other romances? No. The romance is not exclusive in any mechanically enforced way, though narrative consequences exist. The choices guide has details.
What happens if I side with Crake instead? Lacra does not appear in The Knyazmaker. Her fate is determined by whether you betrayed her, not by whether you romanced her.
Is Lacra a full vampire? She is a vrakhir — the same state as Coen. Not fully human, not fully vampire, walking the line between.
