Blood of Dawnwalker Post-Game - What to Do After Beating

What to do after beating Blood of Dawnwalker. No New Game+ or free roam, but you can reload saves to finish side content and see other endings.

Blood of Dawnwalker has no New Game+ and no post-game free roam. After the credits, you return to the title screen and reload a save. There is no open-world exploration after the story ends. But there is still plenty to do before and after the final boss if you know where to look.

What Happens After the Credits

The game returns you to the title screen. Your save file is marked with the ending you achieved, but you cannot continue playing in that world state.

To keep playing, you must reload a save from before the final quest. This is why the endgame checklist matters so much — anything you want to do must be done before A Deal with the Devil.

What to Do Before the Final Boss

1. Finish All Side Quests

Any quest not marked as a main quest will be inaccessible after the ending. The most commonly missed ones:

  • Lacra’s full chain — Six quests, required for The Patricide
  • Crake’s full chain — Six quests, required for The Knyazmaker
  • Xanthe’s court activities — Includes the Home Sweet Home early ending
  • Random encounter quests — Several trigger only at specific times and places

2. Collect All Boss Drops

Every boss drops a unique weapon or armor piece. If you missed one, you cannot go back. Check the boss list for what each one drops.

3. Explore All Regions

Vale Sangora has several hidden areas that are easy to miss:

  • The sealed cave in Briar Sloughs — Requires Planeshift to enter
  • The abandoned church in the east — Contains a unique shield
  • The underwater vault — Requires a specific court activity to unlock

4. Upgrade Your Equipment

The final boss is much harder if your weapon is not fully upgraded. Visit every blacksmith and make sure you have the best gear available.

5. Stock Up on Consumables

Blood Vials, Antidotes, and stamina potions do not carry over to a new run. Use them or lose them.

What to Do After Beating the Game

1. See the Other Endings

Reload your master save from before A Deal with the Devil and pick different dialogue choices. Each of the four full endings takes about 15 minutes to reach from that save.

2. Get the Early Endings

If you missed A Hero They Deserve or Together Forever, reload a save from before the prologue ends. Both early endings can be triggered within the first few hours.

3. Clean Up Achievements

Check which achievements you are missing. The most commonly missed ones:

  • In the Nick of Time — Rescue your family (requires The Turncoat, The Patricide, or The Knyazmaker)
  • Duelist — Complete on the highest difficulty
  • Completionist — Finish all side quests
  • Collector — Obtain all boss drops

4. Try a Higher Difficulty

If you beat the game on normal, try Duelist. The enemies hit harder, resources are scarcer, and the final boss is a genuine challenge. The day planner helps with the tighter time management.

Is There DLC?

As of version 1.0, no DLC has been announced. The developers have hinted at post-launch content, but nothing is confirmed. The base game is complete at roughly 30-40 hours for a full completionist run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I continue playing after the credits?

No. You return to the title screen and reload a save. There is no post-game world state.

Does anything carry over to a new game?

No. New Game+ does not exist. Every run starts fresh.

What is the point of the master save?

One save before A Deal with the Devil lets you see all four full endings without replaying the game. This is the most efficient way to complete the endings.
